Funny Things Happen in 3's

My darling baby girl has just turned 4 years old, can you believe it? She is my trial and my blessing on a daily basis. She is one of the funniest little creatures that I know; for example:

Story 1~

In the middle of the night one night, Brady and I were roused by the sound of little feet thumping their way back into the girls' room. Brady went in to check and found Sarah sitting up in bed mumbling about a drink. He went and got her a sippy and came back to bed. About 30 seconds later, more little feet thumping and then bright bathroom lights turned on. I got up and found her in the bathroom going potty. No big deal, better than wet pull ups. I put her back to bed and went to lay down. I reached for the water that I always keep by my bed and it was gone! Sarah had snuck in and drank all my water! Cute little thief!

Story 2~

Since Brady has been working late, the girl's and I are alone for dinner. I rotate who says the prayer to bless the food and it happened to be Sarah's turn this particular night. We all folded our arms and bowed our heads and her little voice turned out this prayer: "Dear Heavenly Father, we are so thankful that Superman could beat the robot. Please bless Superman as a baby and please bless that Batman cannot die. Amen." She then beamed up at me so pleased with herself that I had to go out to the garage and call Brady, I was laughing so hard.

Story 3~

So yesterday, Sarah was messing around with a pair of Brady's headphones that have the little rubber pieces that are interchangeable for your ear. He asked her not to play with them because he didn't want her losing those pieces (we have had quite the problem with the girls using them for various dolly cuisines, money, ect.). Last night when Brady went to use his headphones, one of the little rubber things was missing. He called Sarah upstairs and told her she needed to find it, as she was not supposed to be playing with them anyway. She looked up at him with her big, brown eyes, sighed, went into the toilet room and pulled it out of the toilet paper roll, where she had stashed it. She then proceeded to hand it over and walk away with a disgusted look on her face, like he had just ruined all of her carefully laid plans.

Sarah is such a character. She has such a big personality for such a tiny human being. I can scarce believe that she is growing up so quickly, and then she finds a way to remind me. It is usually naughty. Despite all that is hard about raising her, I am so thankful for her. She is beautiful to look at and when she is in a good mood, is so pleasant to be around. The other day she actually cleaned up for 5 whole minutes without her being forced to. It sounds lame, but it was such a major accomplishment. She is the child that if I do a good job, will have no problem telling people where she stands and what her morals are. She is strong willed and doesn't back down from a fight. She is definitely a valiant spirit; some days I wish for a little less valiance and a little more obedience, but she is going to need that strong spirit to make it through her life and I would hate to cripple it. I love my daughter Sarah and am so glad that she has reached the ripe old age of 4.
