Berta the Dancing Clown

I had a really fun time today! A friend of mine asked me if I would teach a song and dance to a group of little girls for her daughter's birthday party. I have been so excited and we performed to "She's in Love" from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" the musical. All of the little girls dressed up as princesses and sang and danced their little hearts out. It was fun to see some faces that have not been to my class come and have a good time. At the end of the party we performed for the parents. They all had their cameras and video cameras and it donned on me what I must look like.....Berta the dancing clown. A full grown adult with a huge smile pasted on her face doing some quirky pose. These poor kids are going to look back on these pictures and wonder, who is that lady and why is she hanging out with a bunch of children, what a loser! No, I absolutely love what I do and I am so glad that I am having opportunities to do it so much. I really missed doing children's theatre after leaving Chewelah and Janet. It was such a great opportunity for me and I hope that I can continue on following slowly in her footsteps. I will post some pictures from today as soon as I get them.

Tranquility

Today, I took a new class at the gym called Body Jam. It is an aerobic dance class. I thought I was pretty coordinated and danced reasonably well...not so much. I can't krump to save my life. "krump?" I hear some of you ask, yes, a new version of dance made to make people like me feel old! I finally got the routine down in time to do the cool down. It only took me an hour...hmmm! As Laura would say and Tara and I would laugh to, "kudos to me!" I rushed home and got ready to go to the temple. I had not been in a couple months and it felt so nice to go back. There weren't a lot of people during the session I attended and it was so peaceful and tranquil that I almost fell asleep, no seriously, I had a really hard time. Grandma was nice enough to watch the girlywiggs for me and when I got back I enjoyed sitting down and reading a magazine for a little while. I don't get to do that very often. Aunt Anna woke up and so Cat got to help Grams make vegetable/fruit juice for Anna, of which we reaped the benefits. It is so nice to drink fresh juice, but it takes so stinkin long to prepare everything, juice it and then clean the juicer it is not worth it most of the time for me. I need to make it more of a priority. I am poopin tired, so I am going to bed, Goodnight!

Living an Every Day Life

Nothing special today for us. This morning's class is Body Combat which is one of my favorites at the gym I attend. One of the teacher's just left for California, and so my favorite teacher is all by herself. Kelly, Mike is all yours!! he he he! Yesterday's Pre-School Musical Theatre went very well! I taught "Monkey Around" from the musical, "Seussical" and the kids loved it! It is a very funny song that some monkeys sing while they are hearing Horton come through the jungle, it's pretty cute. I also have been teaching my first student on Friday's. She is 9 and is adorable! She is working on a monologue from Lewis Caroll's, "Alice" books. So, I am keeping pretty busy! I will be going to a play date for my girls after I get back from the gym and then lunch and naps will put us through to the afternoon. After dinner I have an appointment so things will get a bit rushed after dinner, but I enjoy our every day life and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Catherine keeps asking me if today is when Auntie Kelly comes and I have to tell her, no, it's not for two more weeks, don't ask anymore. Usually, about two minutes goes by, if I am lucky, and then I am asked again. This process is repeated until I fully lose it and banish the subject, which usually lasts three minutes until it is brought up again....hmmmm! My work is never done.

Wish Me Luck

Today is one of my crazy days! I teach a Pre-School Musical Theatre class two times a month and today is one of those days. I usually find myself frantically rushing my kids through breakfast and the morning routine so that I can move all of my furniture out of the house and into the garage. Then, I usually have to rig up some kind of sound system, because ours is never the same from month to month and inevitably call Brady crying and hysterical. After he calmly tells me how to fix everything, then I am fine again until the next crisis. This morning I am not rushing. I know how to set up the MP3 player to the sub-woofer and speakers, the kids are eating, I am not moving all the furniture, just some and I am going to try and relax, with no panicky phone call to my husband. We'll see just how well that goes.

Jumping on the bandwagon

The wave of the future....hmmmm! I don't know about that, but blogging certainly is a lot easier than sending emails for me! I am really bad at emailing faithfully, sorry. However, now it is up to you, all my friends and family to keep up with me if you want to. What a sign of the times! No, I really do like the idea of a blog and it is a fun way to see us and keep in touch. I hope that I will remain as deticated as those who have gone before me. So, what has the B&B Thomason family been up to? Well, Brady is set to finish his Masters Program in Business in November and then we are deciding whether or not to continue on with a PhD program. Wish us luck! Brady still works at University of Phoenix and is working with the 11 year old Scouts at church. I am slowly building my Off-Broadway Acting business. I do a Pre-School Musical Theatre twice a month and have my first student taking acting lessons. I am very excited about it. You can also visit my website which hopefully is listed on the side of this blog. I was just released as the Beehive Advisor and am now the ward Choir director! Whew!!!! Catherine is a very busy little girl! She is still doing school with Mommy and is doing so well! I love getting to watch her learn something new or figure something out that we have been working on. She has been learning the alphabet in sign language and has to use her left hand to help her right hand get in the right position sometimes, it is comical to watch! She still is taking a combo tap, ballet and tumbling class which she loves and has her recital at the end of May. She just started piano lessons and her teacher says that she is doing well. I am just glad that I am not teaching her, we tend to butt heads. Cat is in Sunbeams this year and loves taking her scriptures to church. She got a small set for Easter with her name on them and they are her very special scriptures. Sarah is our little spitfire and is a beautiful little trial of my patience. She is the busiest child, constantly destroying or getting into or asking for something or to go...I am getting tired just writing it all. The girls will start swimming lessons in a couple of weeks, so wish us luck that we all survive...literally!
